We are dedicated to providing high-quality and confidential counseling services to help and heal those in need of support. Whether it be children, adult, or a family in crisis, our team of licensed and certified counselors are prepared.
Our program, based on proven cognitive behavioral intervention theories, help individuals recognize, understand, modify and successfully manage their anger.
We offer an array of court-approved assessments to include: Domestic Violence, Anger Management, Substance Abuse Assessments, and SAP-DOT Assessments.
Co-parent counseling is NOT couples counseling. The purpose of these sessions is not to discuss who did what to whom in the past. This type of counseling is future thinking. Moving forward in co-parenting helps the children manage their new way of life post the loss of the family unit.
The topics discussed in counseling depend on where parents are struggling the most. Three common ones that we often help support and negotiate are communication, living arrangements and child rearing decision-making.
Domestic Violence Intervention
Our structured group and individual program conforms to the standards set by the Alabama Coalition against Domestic Violence and addresses the dynamic issues in domestic abuse.
Alabama Wellness specializes in the return to duty process. Our goal is to demystify the process while educating employees and employers how to return to safety sensitive duty. Our commitment to public safety is top priority.
Our sessions promote relationships and understanding within a family. We strive to deepen family connections, improve troubled relationships with family members, and address the needs of a family member suffering from an illness that alters behavior. We as well offer Couples counseling, Pre-marital counseling, and Divorce Recovery Therapy services.
These sessions are ran by a therapist with others instead of in a private one-on-one setting with a therapist. In these group sessions, individuals share their thoughts and experiences with the whole group, allowing them to support one another while being supported by a group of people who understand what you’re going through.
These sessions will provide a safe and secure place in which an individual may explore virtually any aspect in their life in a confidential setting. This could include any number of subjects such as: the use and improvement of healthy coping skills, personal growth, and communication skills.
Parenting Skills Program
These courses are ideal for court requirements, improving personal skills, and growing as a parent. Learning effective parenting skills will assist in improving your family relationship. Co-Parenting and Trans-Parenting classes are offered.
Substance Abuse Program
We use 2 highly effective approaches: The Twelve Step Model and the Matrix Model. This combination, along with strong relapse prevention, increases effectiveness.
Thanks to modern technology, Telehealth allows the facilitation of health-related services to patients via live video conferencing. We use the HIPPA compliant application “Zoom” and "doxyme" that allows us to meet virtually in this safe, private, and easy to use the software.
